WHAT WE BELIEVE

Hope with
a firm foundation.

At the center of our faith is Jesus Christ: His life, death, and resurrection for the world.

AT THE CENTER

Jesus changes
everything.

We believe in the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The good news is that Jesus Christ died and rose for us. His grace, received through faith, is the center of our life together.

God speaks through Scripture

The Old and New Testaments are God’s Word. They tell us who Jesus is and shape our faith, worship, and life.

Grace is a gift

We cannot earn our way to God. Christ meets us with forgiveness and new life, and the Holy Spirit creates and sustains faith.

God gathers and sends us

In worship we hear God’s Word, pray, and receive His gifts. In daily life we love and serve the neighbors God has placed around us.

OUR LUTHERAN ROOTS

Historic faith.
Living hope.

The Anchor is an LCMC congregation—part of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. We’re rooted in Scripture and confess the faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed. At the heart of our Lutheran faith is the good news of Jesus and the grace He gives.

You don’t need to be Lutheran—or even sure what you believe—to come, ask questions, and get to know us.

GO A LITTLE DEEPER

What does that
mean in practice?

Explore a few parts of our faith at your own pace.

Baptism

In Baptism, God joins His promise to water and His Word. We celebrate it as a gift of grace and a beginning of life in Christ for children and adults.

Communion — The Lord’s Supper

Communion is Jesus’ gift to His people. With the bread and wine, He gives us His body and blood, assures us of His forgiveness, and strengthens our faith. We celebrate Communion together every Sunday.

Law and Gospel

God’s Word tells the truth about our sin and need. It also announces what Christ has done for us: forgiveness and life given by grace.

Faith in everyday life

Our vocations—at home, at work, at school, and in our neighborhoods—are places where we can love and serve our neighbors.
